The Power of Good Content
4 SEO tips to get your website on the first page of Google
The competition is strong, with numerous Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) and Financial Planners all competing for the same customers across a similar product range, brand differentiation is essential for companies to stand out above the rest.
The majority of clients for Financial Advisers now prefer to undertake initial research online, either through directories like Unbiased and Vouched For or simply straight from a Google search. It is important for Financial Advisers to have a good online presence. It is particularly important to have a robust search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy.
As the majority of users never scroll past the first page of Google, how do you ensure your advisory company appears on the front page?
(1) Use long tail keywords
In the IFA industry, for example, customers may simply go online to search for “IFA” or “Financial Adviser” - with many search results being returned. While smaller companies may never compete with the market leaders on the main search terms like these, there may be opportunities to get onto the first page of Google with long tail keywords instead, for example: “Pension specialist transfers”, “Phased retirement options” etc.. and local search terms such as “Pensions and divorce Peterborough”
(2) Set up a News Page / Blog
Send us regular content, we'll make sure the code is written in a way that's effective, add engaging images to your website for you too. New Pages serve numerous purposes, including:

- and giving you a chance to show your personality and unique selling points in a crowded marketplace
It is especially important to differentiate yourself from the competition in an industry like financial advice, where the product ranges can be very similar.
(3) Link building
Search engines like to see good quality links between your website and other highly regarded industry sites.
